Waveguide iso-adapters span from S to Ka-Band and include coaxial and waveguide isolators with transitions to waveguide and integrated assemblies including filtering and waveguide windows.
Smiths Interconnect iso-adapters are combination of transition isolator. Depending on the frequency and desired electrical performance the isolator many be a waveguide or coaxial type. The latter is generally results in a more compact device while using a waveguide device results in lower insertion loss but larger volume. Iso-adapter using coaxial isolators are supplied operating in assigned bands from ~2GHz to 22GHz while iso-adapters employing a waveguide isolator are available from ~1 to ~86GHz. Products are designed, analysed, and optimized for specific applications to operate under worst-case combination of agreed operating conditions found in the intended application.
